This bass was built a few years ago while I was living in Anchorage, AK. I had a piece of really nice looking Zebrawood that had been laying around and decided it was time to build something out of it. I chose to build a five string bass. It has a solid mahogany back and a wenge fretboard with black mother-of-pearl ovals for position markers. The neck is quite unique. It has four maple laminates, two cherry and a center laminate of purpleheart. The unique part is that the center laminate of purpleheart tapers from 3/8 of an inch at the bottom of the neck until it disappears just about halfway up the neck.

It has Bartolini soapbars with a two band active preamp, black hardware and an oil finish.
